This cookie- and privacy policy will inform you about which cookies our website is using, what data we collect, why we collect it, how we collect is and how we are treating the data. This is important, not just to raise the security of your personal data, but also to make sure that Dansk Center for Herregårdsforskning meets all the requirements in relation to the privacy regulation (GDPR) which came into force on May 25, 2018.
Privacy regulation (GDPR)
GDPR sets a new framework for how personal data is handled and how we perceive the right to privacy. The purpose of the privacy regulation is to strengthen and unite the rules about data protection and rights, for the benefit of EU citizens. This is applicable for all organizations inside and outside the EU (of any size), who deliver goods and/or services to the EU or who use tracking technologies (as cookies or tracking pixel) to monitor the behavior of EU citizens.
1. Personal information - What do we collect and why
Events
When registering for an event, booking a tour, etc. the participant(s) are registered with name, address and contact information. The information is stored for up to 6 months after the event and then discarded.
Donations
When making donations to the museum, the donor gives name and address, as well as CPR number, if you want a deduction on your tax return. The museum uses only CPR. to pass on to the Danish Tax agency so the donor can get a deduction for the donation. The data is stored up to 5 years in accordance with the Accounting Act.
Partners / trade
In connection with ordering goods and delivering services from Gammel Estrup, we create a personal profile that is used for delivery and invoicing purposes. When Gammel Estrup buys goods/services from partners, a profile is also created with a name, address, contact information and bank information for payment. Information is stored for up to 5 years in accordance with the Accounting Act.
Job
If you are looking for a job at Gammel Estrup, we will process the personal information we have been given by the applicant as well as any references that the applicant has consented to contact us. We save all applications for 3 months before discarding them.
1.1 Cookies
We offer certain functions on our website that is only available via the use of tracking technologies. Your email address will remain on our database and in MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue using MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request that you are removed from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing via the unsubscribe link that is included in our newsletter, or by requesting removal via email. When requesting removal via email, be sure to send the email to us using the email account that is subscribed to the newsletter mailing list.
When you send us your CV, you also sign up for our newsletter. Here you will receive relevant job opportunities, news, information etc. We use your first name and your email address when we send you newsletters.
You can at any time unsubscribe to our newsletter. Either by contacting us or by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletters.
2. Our third-party data processors
We use a range of third parties to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties have been carefully selected. Read more about them on their respective websites.
3. Data breaches
We will report any illegal data violations of this website’s database by one of our third-party data processors to all relevant persons and authorities within 72 hours from the time of the breach in cases where it appears that personal data that has been stored in an identifiable way has been stolen.

5. Right to access and right to be forgotten
We continuously delete data on inactive customers and we only store your data for as long as we need to in order to fulfill the purpose for which the data were originally collected.
You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Please contact us if you wish to withdraw your consent, request access to personal data on you that is stored in our databases or if you would like to have your personal data deleted from our databases. We will respond to your request without undue delay (and in all cases within one month from receipt of your request; although this can be extended for difficult cases).
